Pastor  Pastor Sarah Lewis

Pastor Sarah Lewis was called as pastor at St. Luke’s in March, 2005.  As a second-career pastor with grown children and varied work experience, she always tries to make the connections between the continuing revelation of the Word of God and our daily lives.

Pastor Sarah was born and raised in Minnesota, and visits family and friends there frequently. She is a graduate of Vassar College and of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.  Her past work experience includes working as a journalist, as a press secretary for a member of the U.S. Senate; substitute teaching in Fairfax County elementary schools; and producing monthly newsletters for an association of minority owned small businesses.

Pastor Sarah has three grown children who are as passionate about their vocations as a scientist, an actor and a kindergarten teacher, as she is about parish ministry.  She enjoys spending time with her dog, reading, bicycling, and learning to play her new harp.
