Middle and High School Youth attend Youth Quake in Baltimore

Sunday School for Elementary students takes place during the 10:30am worship service.  Children are excused from worship following the opening litany and return to the sanctuary to receive communion or a blessing with their families.

Sunday School for middle and high school students and adults is held following the worship service from 12-1pm.

Preschool and Elementary age students are currently studying the fruits of the spirit.  Our youngest members learn through fun, activity based units that teach about God’s redeeming love for them and the world.

Our students in middle school take part in Confirmation. They journey as a group through three years of faith formation, fellowship and fun. In the spring of their 8th grade year the students can choose to affirm for themselves the promises their parents made for them in baptism.  Confirmation can be designed for individuals of any age.

High School students who have been confirmed are viewed as adult, voting members in the Lutheran church. They continue to grow in relationship with God by studying a variety of topics using books, movies and current music. Throughout the year they participate fully in worship by serving as readers, communion assistants and presenting the occasional play or sermon. Friendships are strengthened as they share weekly highs and lows and through service to others.

Our Adult class is currently using a video based discussion series on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.  Lead by Pastor Sarah in the sanctuary, this study looks at emotions and how they can enhance or inhibit our spiritual growth.  You are welcome to join this group at any time.  During the seasons of Lent and Advent we also offer Wednesday evening gatherings as we prepare for Easter and Christmas.
